What is the GameTree Download Manager?
The GameTree Download Manager is an application that assists users with their GameTree Online purchase experience. The Download Manager specifically helps by managing the downloads of large game files, although it will soon be available to assist with any game purchased from GameTree Online.
The Download Manager allows users to pause and resume the download of their games, to verify and correct errors in the download, and to accelerate download speeds. It also automatically opens the game image after it has finished downloading, presenting the game as ready to be installed by the user.
The GameTree Download Manager can only be used to assist game downloads from GameTree Online purchases and currently won't support the download of general internet files.
Supported Operating Systems: MacOS 10.4.11 (Tiger) and MacOS 10.5.6 (Leopard) are supported on Intel-based Macs only.
Supported Browsers: Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Seamonkey, Flock and Opera.
Installing the GameTree Download Manager
The first step is to download and install the GameTree Download Manager (approx. 1MB file size). When you purchase a game from GameTree Online that offers an assisted download through the GameTree Download Manager, you will be presented with this download option on the web page presented by clicking on the URL link provided in your purchase email (receipt) from GameTree Online.
Click on the link Download GameTree Download Manager, as seen below:
Save the DMG file to your Downloads folder or your Desktop and open it by double-clicking on the GameTree Download Manager icon. Run the GameTree Download Manager Installer process (only takes seconds)
Follow the installation instructions. It is recommended that the GameTree Download Manager is installed to the default location of your Applications directory on the Mac.
After the installation of the GameTree Download Manager has completed successfully, it is now ready for use! To test that the Download Manager is installed correctly, simply return to the web page that was presented when clicking on the URL link provided in your purchase email (receipt) and Refresh the web page. You should be presented with the following:
Note that in some cases, you may have to reload the web page more than once, clear your cache, or re-start your browser application then click the URL link provided in the purchase email.
Using the GameTree Download Manager
The GameTree Download Manager operates by opening special links served by only GameTree Online. Once a GameTree Online game purchase link is clicked in on from the web page, the GameTree Download Manager automatically opens and starts downloading the game associated with the link to your Mac.
Where are my files saved to?
All downloaded games are saved to the Downloads folder on your Mac, located in your home directory of your computer.
GameTree Download Manager Features
In addition to verifying and correcting download errors, some of the features of the GameTree Download Manager include the ability to pause your downloads and resume them at a later time. To do so, click the Pause button during an active download:
After a download is paused, it can be resumed by clicking on the Resume button:
And finally, a download can be aborted, by clicking on the Abort button:
When a download is complete, the GameTree Download Manager will mount (final installation process) the game DMG (executable) automatically. It is also possible to view the DMG file itself by clicking the Show in Finder button:
It is also possible to remove a completed download from the GameTree Download Manager's history by clicking the Clear button.
Re-starting the GameTree Download Manager
If you choose to quit or close the GameTree Download Manager, your downloads will be paused until the GameTree Download Manager is restarted. To restart the GameTree Download Manager, located it in the folder where it was originally installed (default is your Applications folder) and open the application GameTreeDM.
If you have pending or paused game downloads, they will start automatically.
Manually Opening a URL
Should you receive a URL link from GameTree Online Support in response to a GameTree Online purchase inquiry, you can manually open in the GameTree Download Manager Application .Choose the File menu Download From URL option to download the game from the URL link provided by GameTree Online Support.
Enter the provided URL in the input window and click Download to begin:
Uninstalling the GameTree Download Manager
If you wish to uninstall the GameTree Download Manager, the following files need to be removed:
/Users/$USER/Library/Preferences/com.transgaming.tgDownload.plist /Users/$USER/Library/Preferences/tgDownload /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/GameTreeDM.plugin /Applications/GameTreeDM.app (or where ever it was installed to)

Current Limitations and Future Developments
The following list outlines some known issues and limitations with this version of the Download Manager. Some of these issues will be addressed in future versions.
- The Download Manager can only download games to the Downloads directory in the current user's home directory.
- The Download Manager does not work on PowerPC-based Macs. Intel-based Macs Only.
